For some time now I have been hoping Bandai would develop a sub-series of the ongoing Soul Of Chogokin line featuring new highly detailed collector oriented Machine Robo toys. In the 10 years I have thought about the possibilities nothing has ever come of it except a toy of Rom Stol and the BaiKunFu armor. That toy and character in particular has never did anything for me. So I have to say it was quite a surprise to see a new set of intricate yet fairly faithful looking representations of the Machine Robo anime renditions being promoted at a toy show a year ago. This month the first three toys were released.
There seems to be a lot of confusion and mis-understanding surrounding the new series being produced by Action Toys. In order to keep this review to a minimum I'm going to sidestep the issues of copyright/licensing hows and whys and correlations to the American Gobots line.
